✦   Our Commitment

At Golden Tree Tarot, we believe that spiritual guidance, community, and care should be available to everyone — regardless of ability or how they access the web. We are actively working to ensure our website is inclusive, navigable, and welcoming for all visitors.

🎯

Section 1

What We’re Working Toward

Golden Tree Tarot aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

While we may not yet be fully compliant across every area of the site, accessibility is an ongoing priority and we are committed to continual improvement.

Accessibility is not a feature — it is a foundation. We are dedicated to building and maintaining a site where everyone can find clarity, connection, and calm.

Section 2

What We Currently Support

We have implemented or are actively working toward the following accessibility features across our website:

⌨️
Keyboard Navigation All interactive elements — menus, buttons, links, and forms — are accessible via keyboard without requiring a mouse.
🔊
Screen Reader Support Pages are structured with semantic HTML and ARIA labels to work with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
🔍
Text Resizing Text can be resized up to 200% using browser zoom without loss of content or functionality.
🎨
Colour Contrast We aim to meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, per WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
🖼️
Image Alt Text Meaningful images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers can skip them.
📱
Responsive Design The site adapts to all screen sizes, from desktop to mobile, without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
🔗
Descriptive Links Links use clear, meaningful text that describes their destination — not generic phrases like “click here.”
⏭️
Skip Navigation A “Skip to main content” link appears at the top of each page, allowing keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation.
📋
Form Labels All form fields include visible labels and clear instructions so they are identifiable by assistive technologies.
🎬
Video Accessibility We aim to provide captions for our video readings. Where available, closed captions can be enabled via the video player controls.

Areas We Are Still Improving

We are transparent about the areas where our site is still a work in progress. Known limitations include:

  • Older blog content: Some earlier blog posts and images may not yet have complete alternative text. We are reviewing and updating these on an ongoing basis.
  • Third-party embedded content: Video content hosted on YouTube and other third-party platforms is subject to those platforms’ own accessibility features and limitations, which are outside our direct control.
  • Complex interactive elements: Some interactive features on our shop and reading pages may present challenges for certain assistive technologies. We are actively reviewing these with accessibility in mind.
  • PDF documents: Any downloadable PDF files on the site may not yet be fully tagged for screen reader accessibility. We are working to address this.
  • Video captions: While we aim to caption all video readings, some older videos may not yet have captions available. New content will be captioned as a standard.

If you encounter a specific barrier on any page, please contact us — we will prioritize addressing it.

💻

Section 4

Compatible Browsers & Assistive Technologies

Golden Tree Tarot is designed to be compatible with a wide range of browsers and assistive technologies. We test and aim to support the following combinations:

  • Screen readers: NVDA with Firefox, JAWS with Chrome, VoiceOver with Safari (macOS and iOS), TalkBack with Chrome (Android)
  • Browsers: Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • Zoom tools: Browser zoom up to 200%, as well as operating system zoom features on Windows and macOS
  • Switch access and keyboard-only navigation: Fully supported for all core site functionality
  • Voice control: Compatible with Dragon NaturallySpeaking and macOS Voice Control

If you use a specific assistive technology not listed above and experience difficulties, please let us know. We want to hear from you.

Section 5

Third-Party Tools & Platforms

Our website incorporates tools and content from third-party providers, including payment processors, video hosting platforms, and e-commerce plugins. While we select providers with accessibility in mind, we cannot guarantee that all third-party components fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Third-party services used on this site include:

  • YouTube — for embedded video readings (subject to YouTube’s own accessibility features)
  • WooCommerce — for our shop and checkout process
  • Payment processors — for secure transaction handling

If you experience difficulties with any third-party component, please contact us and we will do our best to provide an alternative means of assistance.

Section 8

Our Ongoing Accessibility Work

Accessibility is not a one-time project — it is a continuous commitment. We regularly review our site for accessibility issues as part of our development process and update this statement to reflect our current status and progress.

Planned improvements include:

  • Conducting a full accessibility audit of existing blog and product content
  • Adding captions and transcripts to all existing video readings
  • Improving keyboard focus indicators across all interactive elements
  • Reviewing and updating all downloadable documents for screen reader compatibility
  • Testing with real assistive technology users to identify and address real-world barriers

This Accessibility Statement was last reviewed and updated on April 7, 2026. We aim to review it at least once every twelve months.
